On Oct. 11, E-Verify released a minor update to Interface Control Agreement (ICA) version 31.1 (v31.1). This update includes minor changes that enhance performance and streamline program language. Most updates do not require changes on behalf of the Web services (WS) developer. The following updates may require a change:
- Update values reflecting the employee’s status attestation from “An alien authorized to work” to “A noncitizen authorized to work.”
- Ensure that WS developers can change their password both before and after it has expired and are presented with a descriptive error message when the error is tied to an expired password.
- Acceptance testing is not required for this release.
- WS developers will have three months from Oct. 12, 2023, to update their software. Changes must be completed and tested by Jan. 12, 2024, to ensure uninterrupted case processing operations.
- The final version of E-Verify ICA v31.1 and the v31.1 change log are posted in both the E-Verify Stage and Production sites.
