When you complete Section 1 of Form I-9 with your employer after you are hired, you have the option to provide your email address. If you provide your email address, E-Verify will only use it to send an email notification if additional action is required for your E-Verify case.
If you provide your email address, your employer must enter it into E-Verify. The employer must not enter any email address other than the one you provided on Form I-9.
An email notification does not replace the current mismatch process. Employers must continue to notify you of mismatches and your right to take action to resolve them by providing you the Further Action Notice and reviewing it with you in private.
