If an employer hires remote employees for a telework position and the employee is in a state where E-Verify is mandatory, does the employer have to enroll in E-Verify and create a case on that person?

Some U.S. states have laws requiring employers to enroll and participate in E-Verify as a condition of business or employment licensing to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires. If you need more information about your state law, please contact appropriate legal counsel, the state government, or Chamber of Commerce for the respective state. If your new employee works in one of these states and you are not a federal contractor, you may choose to enroll only the hiring sites that will use E-Verify.
