E-Verify uses various technical, operational and physical security controls to protect your information. Examples include:
- Requiring users to have complex passwords they must change every 90 days to access the system;
- Locking of an account after 3 consecutive failed attempts to log on;
- Automatically logging off a user after a period of inactivity;
- Using data encryption within the system;
- Using the “https” protocol instead of “http,” which is more secure; and
- Having procedures for reporting and responding to potential breaches of information.
