What is E-Verify doing to protect my information?

E-Verify uses various technical, operational and physical security controls to protect your information. Examples include:

  • Requiring users to have complex passwords they must change every 90 days to access the system;
  • Locking of an account after 3 consecutive failed attempts to log on;
  • Automatically logging off a user after a period of inactivity;
  • Using data encryption within the system;
  • Using the “https” protocol instead of “http,” which is more secure; and
  • Having procedures for reporting and responding to potential breaches of information.

See E-Verify’s Commitment to Privacy page for more information.
