History and Milestones

Chronological summary of the milestones of the E-Verify Program

Since 1996, E-Verify has been helping enrolled employers confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. E-Verify is fast, free and easy to use – and it’s the best way employers can ensure a legal workforce. Businesses across the United States use E-Verify.

About E-Verify

E-Verify, authorized by Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA), is a web-based system through which employers electronically confirm the employment eligibility of their employees.

Employees
